Jimmie Plays With Les Paul

Les Paul performs on Monday nights in New York City at the Iridium Jazz Club. Jimmie went to see the legendary performer while in New York. He saw the early show and then got a chance to meet Les after. He was so thrilled to meet Jimmie and asked him if he had brought his guitar. Of course Jimmie never had planned to play with Les and let him know that he had just come to see him perform. Les insisted that Jimmie stay and perform with him during the next show and that he could use one of his guitars. When Jimmie was called up on stage, he was handed one of Les' prototype Les Paul guitars! Both men ran through several blues jams and Jimmie sang "Kinky Woman" for the excited crowd. The next evening, Les surprised Jimmie by showing up at B.B. Kings to see he and the band perform. He is still on cloud nine and can't believe that "Les Paul showed up at my show!"

The "Ironic Twist" is on tour again. Jimmie's 61 Cadillac Coupe Deville has been part of the Peterson Automotive Museum's display called "Cars & Guitars of Rock n' Roll" for six months. Along with his car, Jimmie has had one of his vintage guitars on display as well. A few of the other artists that participated in this were Eric Clapton with his 1940 Ford Coupe, Jeff Beck and his 1932 Ford and Billy Gibbon's with his car "Cadzzilla". Jimmie was interviewed about the car on Speedvision (above picture) and the car has recently been on display at this years' National Association of Music Merchants show in Los Angeles, CA. We'll keep you posted on where the Ironic Twist is due to show up next!
